Mission Statement

apo_logo2_white

The Anteater Photography Organization (A.P.O) is a club where those interested in the art of photography can come together to express their creativity and enrich their knowledge amongst a friendly community of their peers. A.P.O. is here to offer students the opportunity to work, create and expand their knowledge outside of the classroom, while learning to work together with others. We all have different perspectives and are at different places in our journey with photography, and recognize the value in the perspective of each individual. We encourage our members to explore the various aspects of photography, and challenge each other to strive to become better at what we do.

I joined APO two years ago and it has shaped me to the person and photographer I am today. I am grateful to find a community of people who have the same interest as me and an environment that nurture my passion fro photography. My college experience would not have been the same without this club.

Through APO, I have met many dedicated photographers whose works humble me and inspire me to improve. The organization expands my knowledge of photography through workshops and provides opportunities to apply and develop those skills. I am thankful to be apart of it because it brings us out of complacency and empowers us to achieve more with our talents.

Hi all! I’m Chihiro and I’ll be the event coordinator for this year. I joined APO last year since photography was a small hobby of mine and thought that APO would be the perfect place for me to take a break from studying. Starting from an amateur photographer who didn’t even have a camera, I learned so many things from club activities, workshops, and photoshoots along with the other members. I was glad that I made new friends with similar interests and experiences in photography, and I’m looking forward to making more. Here’s to a great year!

Hi! I’m Theo, and I am serving as the APO Membership Director for the 2017-2018 Academic year.
When I first joined the Anteater Photography Organization, I saw it as an opportunity to learn more about styles of photography in which I was not well versed. As time went on however, I quickly realized that although I was still pursuing my initial goal, it was not the only reason I continually attended APO meetings and events. The people of APO caused me to keep coming out; they bring a sense of community that has become very valuable to me, even in my endeavor to improve my photography.
It is my desire for APO to provide something similar for you, and I very much hope to see you at our next meeting!

Due to my interest in portrait photography, I joined APO in hopes of gaining new connections with people interested in photography like me. APO became a great way of going out with others to explore, shoot photos, and bond. Personally, my favorite part is other people’s perspectives  when taking photos and their creativity. This is my favorite non-academic club/organization.
