Campuswide Honors Student Council:
What is the CHSC?

What is the CHSC?

The Campuswide Honors Student Council, or CHSC, is an affiliate of the Campuswide Honors Program that represents the students of the program. With over 2,000 alumni and 600 current members, the CHSC serves as the directing student leadership for the Campuswide Honors community. We are dedicated to promoting academic excellence, developing strong student faculty relations, and coordinating social events and community outreach.

Who is eligible to be a part of CHSC?

All members of the Campuswide Honors Program (CHP) are automatically members of CHSC and are thus eligible to participate in any and all of the CHSC functions, meetings, etc.

When and where are meetings held for CHSC?

CHSC normally meets on Wednesdays of odd numbered weeks at 5:00 PM in the Locus, "Room 1020AB, Student Services II." However, the first few meetings of the year will be in the honors freshmen dorms. Please look at the meetings page for details.

Can I read over the CHSC Constitution?

Of course! Here you go!

I have a great event idea for CHSC! How do I get it funded?

The CHSC has a new fiscal policy and in order to receive CHSC funding for any program, the primary programmers must follow the following procedures:

Program Proposal (PDF) or Program Proposal (Doc)

·       Must be submitted at least one week prior to an event date – subject to approval by the Honors Advisor.  Read the full Proposal Guidelines here.

This form may be turned in to an executive council member at any CHSC
meeting.

For a complete explanation of funding approval procedures, please read Article IV, Section C. Expenditures of the CHSC Constitution.

Before reimbursements are given, the primary programmer must turn in the following documentation no later than one week after the program:

  1. Receipts taped to a Funding Reimbursement Form

  2. Program Evaluation Form (PDF) or Program Evaluation Form (Doc)

Both of these forms must be turned into the Treasurer, Matthew Nease. The Program Evaluation form may be emailed if preferred.

If the primary programmer does not complete these forms according to these directions and within the timeframe specified, they may be ineligible to receive reimbursement. This policy applies to ALL programs or other events/projects/fundraisers that request CHSC funding.
