Circle K International (CKI) is a collegiate community service organization spanning the globe. We pursue our three tenets: service, leadership, and fellowship as we serve others. Circle K provides its members the opportunity to engage in communities both local and distant, with various colleges collaborating on projects across borders (often state and sometimes national) on a frequent basis. Additionally, the organization provides members with leadership opportunities and networking.
Circle K is part of the Kiwanis Family, which includes community service groups at multiple levels of education and more. There is K-Kids for elementary school, Builder's Clubs for middle school, Key Clubs/Kiwins in high school, Circle K in colleges, CAYP for young professionals, and Aktion for the physically and mentally disabled, all of which are supported by Kiwanis International.
Locally, UCI Circle K frequents community service projects all over. On a weekly basis we participate in helping out at Working Wardrobes, the Early Literacy Program, Think Together, and Someone Cares Soup Kitchen on weekdays. During Weekends, projects vary even more. We regularly volunteer in Upper Newport Bay's 2nd Sunday events focusing on habitat restoration, as well as helping out at the OC Food Bank, various marathons and runs, on top of any other events that need help in the area.
Beyond our own campus, UCI Circle K is part of the Magic Kingdom Division which comprises CSU Fullerton, Chapman University, Irvine Valley College, Orange Coast College, Saddleback College, Whittier College, and Santa Ana College. Together as a division, Circle Ks attend events together, as well as each others meetings in order to expose members to a more diverse group of individuals all striving for the same cause. Divisions are led by Lieutenant Governors, and for 2011-2012, Magic Kingdom is under the leadership of Michael Tung.
Multiple divisions comprise a district. Magic Kingdom Division is part of the Cal-Nev-Ha District, which consists of all Circle K organizations in the states of California, Nevada, and Hawaii. Districts are led by a District Governor, who heads a District Board (which lieutenant governors are part of). For more information on other Circle K organizations, visit the Links page.
Circle K organizations worldwide total over 13,250 members in 17 different nations, performing more than 1 million hours of service on their respective campuses and communities each year!
