The first general meeting is TODAY at 6:30pm in HSLH 100A. However at 6:10pm, we will be meeting up at either the student center terrace or Middle Earth basketball courts to escort anyone who can't find HSLH 100A.

The theme for our meeting is school spirit, so please come out to our meeting with UCI spirit!!!. Our social will be at In n' Out.

TOMORROW there will be a Spirit/Social Committee meeting from 5pm-6pm at the Courtyard Study Louge room #1. The agenda for today will be brainstorming ideas for the upcoming Fall Training Conference (FTC) Talent Show. Ideas need to be submitted by October 14 so we need your help!!!

Welcome back to school everyone!!!

Our FIRST general meeting will be held this TUESDAY at 6:30pm in HSLH 100A, which is right across from the Science Library. The theme for our meeting is: School Spirit!!! Come dressed in gold and blue and have the change to win a gift card at the UCI Bookstore!!! We will be having our social at In n' Out instead of Irvine Lanes this week!!!

If you don't know where HSLH is, that's okay we will be having board escorts, wearing our amazing blue Circle K shirts, stationed at the Student Center terrace near the ATM machines and at Middle Earth basketball courts. Please meet us there by 6:10pm!!!

Today Circle K will be tabling on ring road, near Student Services II, from 9am-3pm so please stop by and show how great of a club we are!!! Member applications will be available as well so stop by to pick one up and remember to return them to Goldie Tang, our Treasurer with the member dues.

Goldie is free to collect member applications on Tuesday during the beginning and ending of the general meeting, Wednesday from 1:15pm-3:15pm at Starbucks and Thursday from 11:15am-2:45pm at Starbucks.

CKI South is coming up on October 15th!!! CKI (Crazy Kompetition for Infants) South is a huge fundraiser that brings all of Circle K's in Southern California together to compete in a bunch of relay games. CKI South is an annual event that fundraises for Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP), which is one of our District Fundraising Inititatives (DFI) that focuses on education and training in the areas of pediatric trauma and injury prevention.

Help us recruit new members during the Involvement Fair TODAY by visiting our booth, located at spot #207, opposite of Rowland Hall from 11am-3pm!!!

Orientations for the New Circle K year are held THIS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH, from 6pm-8pm at Crystal Cove Auditorium and THIS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21TH, from 6pm-8pm at Emerald Bay A/B/C.

Orientations are info sessions of what Circle K can offer you as a potential or returning member. Try to come out to at least one orientation! ALSO our never before seen 2011-2012 Orientation Video will be FINALLY REVEALED!!!

2011-2012 Member Applications will be available during Involvement Fair and Orientation Days!!! Definitely pick one up and join our amazing club!!!

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST, IS THE DAY UCI WILL ATTEMPT TO BREAK THE WORLD RECORD OF HOLDING THE LARGEST DODGEBALL GAME!!! More information about the game can be found on HERE!!! Join us to be a part of this amazing event and support our Korean BBQ sale which will both be held at ARC Fields starting at 1pm!!!

Our first service project of the 2011-2012 school year will be Surf City Surf Dog on Sunday, September 25!!!

The Service Spotlight of September and October is Students Team Up to Fight Hunger (STUFH), an organization that focuses on helping college students work with their local food banks to provide food to the less fortunate.

Hope you had fun this weekend with our Beach Social, FREE carwash and Golf Tournament Circle K!!!

Our Carwash on Sunday made $540.45 dollars!!! PROUD OF YOU CIRCLE K and thank you to all that came to the carwash and helped out!!!

Circle K received a $100 check from Saddleback Kiwanis for volunteering at the Golf Tournament last Thursday!!! (*round of applause to everyone who went*)

Member Development & Education (MD&E) meeting is TOMORROW at the Courtyard Study Lounge in room #11 from 3:05pm to 4:00pm! Missed last week’s MD&E meeting? No worries! With summer session I coming to an end, be sure to celebrate the summer with FUN CIRCLE K SOCIALS THIS THURSDAY, JULY 28TH, ON A HIKE AND SATURDAY, JULY 30TH, AT HUNTINGTON BEACH.

THIS SUNDAY, July 31st, we have paired up with Huancavelica Medical Mission for a FREE carwash to raise money to send our Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor (IP LTG), Phillip Chow, and his club to Huancavelica, one of the poorest provinces in Peru, to provide and promote health and the well-being of children.

Are you a dancer and would like a chance to win a plaque and a cash prize?!?!?! Then you should participate in the Santa Ana Kiwanis Dance Fundraiser in September. Contact our Immediate Past Spirit/Social Chair and Current Lieutenant Governor, Michael Tung, for more information.

This Saturday, July 23rd, is our monthly Magic Kingdom Division Council Meeting (DCM), where all the clubs within our division come together to hear international, district and division updates from our 2011-2012 Lieutenant Governor (LTG), Michael Tung. After the DCM, there will be a service project for CHOC Hospital where we will be making cards for the children!!!

NEW TECHNOLOGY MEETING LOCATION!!!

The technology meeting tomorrow, July 14th, will be located at the Courtyard Study Lounge in study room#11 from 6pm-7pm.

I, Karen Truong, the Technology Chair, will be near the ATM machines at the Student Center 20 minutes before 6pm, for anyone who is attending and don't know where the study lounge is. That way, we can all go to the meeting together. Please call me if you get lost! My number can be found here!

Remember to check out the FIRST Member Development and Education [MD&E] Committee Meeting tomorrow, July 12, at 3:05pm at the West Food Court in front of Panda Express! Help Anthony Tran, the MD&E Chair, brainstorm ideas for our Circle K orientation video for the 2011 fall quarter.

District Summer Service Social (DSSS) is a time in which every Circle Ker from our Cal-Nev-Ha District come together to socialize, network and do service!!!. This year it will be held from August 18-20th at the Town and Country Resort, 500 Hotel Circle, San Diego, CA 92108. The Registration forms and fee are DUE JULY 28th!!!

If you are interested in utilizing your leadership skills, consider hosting a workshop at DSSS!!! Applications are DUE THIS SATURDAY, JULY 16th!!!

THIS WEEK, the Early Literacy Program [Book Doctor] service project will be ON THURSDAY, JUNE 30TH from 2:50pm-5:00pm NOT WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29TH!

From now on for the summer, the Early Literacy Program service project will be held every Thursday from 2:50pm-5:00pm.

Currently MD&E [Member Development and Education] Chair, Anthony Tran, and Technology Chair, Karen Truong, are coordinating committee meetings to brainstorm ideas for the new upcoming orientation video and website.

The visual aid and description for each event tag, for the new CERF form is finally posted HERE under the subheading: Club Event Report Form (CERF). Once again, CERFs [Club Event Report Form], are forms that document member attendance and hours.

Summer is officially here Circle K!!! Yesterday was the first day of summer so Happy Belated Summer's Day!

Just a heads up, there have been new updates from our MD&E Chair, Anthony, and Single Service Chairs, Imran and Kathy, so please check out the new committees page for the updates!

To all of our current and potential service chairs, there is a new CERF format that should be checked out. CERF is the Club Event Report Form and it is filled out for every service project we do to record our service hours and attendance. A visual sample will be posted soon!

I also got the chance to update pictures for the MOM (Member of the Month) and MOW (Member of the Week) pages so check them out as well!

Remember just because it's summer, the service projects doesn't have to stop!!! Check out our calendar and if you have the time, meet up at the flagpoles for your desired service project!

Tomorrow, JUNE 2nd, we will be having our korean bbq fundraiser at 10am on ring road between gateway and the cultural center! Come out to join our bbq fun and have a quick break with some yummy food and friends!

On another note, recently the coordinator for the Early Literacy Program, also known as our Book Doctor weekly project, emailed to give their apperciation to us for volunteering our time with them. As of the end of April, the Early Literacy Progam donated 78,000 books to children in low-income communities in the Santa Ana District!!!!

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered for this event week after week!!! You derserve a pat on your back for making so many kids happy! Check out the pictures on our Flickr picture slideshow below the chat-box or click here.

  • On Saturday, April 30th, We worked with OCC Circle K, Fountain Valley Kiwanis and Key Clubs, to bring smiles to every kid at CHOC [Children’s Hospital of Orange County] Festival with plenty of games and raffle prizes
  • From April 30th-May 1st, we joined Relay for Life to fundraise for cancer research by selling delicious baked goods and walked around Aldrich Park day and night to symbolize the fight for a cure will never end until we find one!
  • On Sunday, May 1st, we ended our amazing weekend with our beautiful and heartwarming UCI End-of-The-Year Banquet honoring our amazing 2010-2011 board and members for a spectacular year! Great job everyone!

By being apart of the committee, you will gain hands-on experience with CNH [Cali-Nev-Ha] Circle K works, valuable leadership skills, and most of all, new friends!

First off I would like to apologize for the confusing change of time shifts for Working Wardrobes. Hopefully everyone interested in the event was able to make it to the right shift. From now on, the new shift for Working Wardrobes will be from 11:50am-2pm on Mondays.

Do you love board games?!?! CSA is hosting a Game Night tomorrow night from 7:00pm-9:00pm! Circle K has a team but needs 5 people to participate! This is a great chance to bond with Circle Kers, win prizes from the raffle and also win at least $50 dollars to fund for our club! If you are interested inform any board member after the meeting!

Our district event, Spring Training Conference(STC), is coming up next weekend on May 8th BUT early registration is due April 29th with a $5 dollar fee for lunch. APEX [Asian Professional Exchange] is organizing a Youth Olympics on May 14 and needs our help with set-up, clean-up, registration, game set-up, etc. Fill out APEX volunteer form and Circle K Sign-Up Form by April 29th! Sign up as soon as possible. We will be volunteering as logistics/detail volunteers from 7AM-1PM! You need to be 18 years to volunteer! Food, water and a t-shirt will be provided for each volunteer.

UCI End of the Year Banquet is THIS SUNDAY, May 1st! Join our festivities for this amazing year from 6pm-9:30pm in Emerald Bay A,B,C. Pre-sale tickets are $10 and it’s due by April 29th. Please pay the fee to one of the 2010-2011 Executive Board: Roxana Carrillo, Jake Gavino, DJ Torado, Adeline Chien or John Do. At-the-door tickets are $15. Our theme is, A Banquet for Kings and Queens, and our dress attire is semi-formal to formal. Food will be catered by Buca Di Beppo!   

Relay for Life is this weekend from April 30th-May 1st! Remember to join our team and come enjoy a great weekend with Circle K. As a reminder, Relay for Life is an annual event that funds for cancer research and programs.

CHOC [Children’s Hospital of Orange County] Festival is this Saturday, April 30th from 6:40am-1pm! We will be hosting a game booth during the festival and would love if members come help us run the booth! We will be there all day for set-up, during the event and clean-up. Sign up online!

Kiwanis of Huntington Beach is having a Family Friendly Carnival on April 30th from 11am-4pm at Huntington Beach Sports Complex. The admission ticket is $5 per person and all proceeds will go towards Huntington Beach Children's Library, Kiwanis Youth Programs and participating charities. If you live in the area or are in the area during 11am-4pm, definitely check out the event! Kiwanis of Huntington Beach is one the many Kiwanis Clubs who support our club and many other Circle K clubs in the area. Attending their fundraiser is a great way to support them as well for all the support they have given us.

Spring Training Conference(STC) is coming soon in about 3 weeks!!!! Want to learn more about our amazing club and how to become the next best leader or meet new potential next best friend?!?!?! Definitely check out STC on May 8th from 8:30AM to 3:30PM if you answered yes to ALL or most of those questions. Early Registation ends next week on April 29th with a $5 dollar fee. The fee will be $7 on the day of STC, so save $2 dollars and sign-up EARLY!

RELAY FOR LIFE is NEXT WEEKEND! Relay for Life is an event in which our community comes together to fundraise for cancer research and every year it is hosted on our very own CAMPUS in Aldrich Park on the upper lawn near Rowland Hall. Join our Circle K team and help us fundraise!

We would also like to sincerely apologize about the birthday calendar. If you haven't notice, the birthday calendar is unviewable. We are currently in the process of making a new one for the new year. We will try our best to create the calendar to recognize our upcoming birthdays! On a last note, Good luck to everyone on their midterms! Just remember to breathe and relax and you will definitely ace that test! Believe in yourself and study hard!

Our Korean BBQ taco fundraiser was a success at Wayzgoose! We sold out and are so grateful for our wonderful members for helping out at our booth and to our great customers! All proceeds from today will be going to Pediatric Trauma Prevention (PTP). PTP is a program with a main goal of preventing unintentional injuries and trauma through safety education and training for physicians on how to treat children with serious injuries.

We are also looking forward to meeting all the new prospective students who took a great interest in Circle K today! Thank you all for coming to our booth and getting to know us more! We hope to see you at our weekly meetings on Tuesdays from 6pm-7pm in Doheny Beach A at the student center!

Greetings fellow Circle Kers! Aren’t you excited for our meeting today at 6pm at Doheny Beach A?!?!?! It’s Bring a Friend DAY so please recruit your friends and show how wonderful Circle K is. For every friend you bring, you will receive an extra raffle ticket!

Week 3 has already begun with many new exciting events to look forward to besides our amazing weekday services! If you ever wanted to chair an event, you can sign-up HERE! Chairing an event comes with the responsibility of counting how many members and drivers were present at the event and having the opportunity to learn how to fill out a CERF form.

As a recap, last week was Spring Spirit Week! Circle K won 2nd place and recieve a trophy, the Anteater bobble heads, UCI moleskin notebooks and travel mugs! We are so proud of all of the participants for representing Circle K with all their spirit, cheers, and support for each other and the other clubs. You guys deserve a round of applause!

Are you just itching to learn how to dance with our one and only Spirit/Social Chair, Andy Nguyen?!?! Well, it's your lucky day because he is hosting a dance workshop THIS THURSDAY in HH 232 from 5pm-7pm. No previous dance experience is needed and wear comfortable clothes.

ASUCI ELECTIONS are this week so please VOTE! Help make a difference on campus! Voting ends on Friday, the 15th, at 4pm so please take a moment NOW to vote this week! Circle K 2011-2012 Board has endorsed Dillon Gamboa for At Large Representative.

Do you want to be more involved on UCI campus? Then, consider applying for the Dean of Students internship program. It’s a great way to network within UCI, gain leadership experience and make new friends. Applications are due this Friday, the 15th, by 11pm.

This Saturday is the 33rd annual Wayzgoose event in Aldrich Park and Circle K will be there selling Korean BBQ so please come on out to support us and bring your friends! Wayzgoose is a celebration of UCI in which all clubs and the UCI community come to enjoy entertainment, food, music and even a car show! This will be a great opportunity to recruit prospective new members so please help us show how amazing Circle K is!

Key Club District Convention is held this weekend (April 15-17) in Anaheim this year. If you are interested in being a SAA [Sergeant at Arms] or in other words, a security officer at the convention, sign up HERE! As an SAA, you will be in charge off ensuring all Key Clubbers safety and enforcing midnight curfews. This will be a great opportunity to meet other Circle Kers in the area!

Do you want to learn more about Circle K? Are you thinking of leading Circle K for the 2012-2013 year? If you answered yes to both questions, definitely join us and the rest of the Magic Kingdom Division and come to STC at CSU Fullerton! At STC, Spring Training Conference, fun and informative workshops are hosted to create better leaders and to gain a better perspective about what Circle K is all about. STC will be held Sunday, May 8th from 8:30am-3:30pm.

Hi everyone! My name is Karen Truong and I'm your new 2011-2012 tech chair! Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be running the website from now on! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at our general meeting tomorrow at 6pm at Doheny Beach A. Sadly I do have class at 7pm so I won't be able to stay long to meet everyone, but please don't be afraid to say hi! Our new website will be up soon once the new board finalizes our theme of the year. I hope everyone will be excited as I am when its up!

Please continue to check our calendar for upcoming weekly and weekend events such as Book Doctor, Someone Cares Soup Kitchen, Brea Creek Restoration and 2nd Sundays at Upper Newport Bay! Service never ends for us! If anyone is interested there will be a committee meeting for Single Service from 5-6pm at Doheny Beach A, right before our general meetings.
