Orientations

In the beginning of the school year, we host two orientations to recruit new members and retain old members. This is also the time to view our orientation video and learn about the upcoming events of the year! We hosted our first ever club's Membership Orientation in Fall of 2010. As our club expanded we saw a need to develop our leadership and our members before FTC. The result was more members were pumped up to be involved earlier than the previous year, and some board members raised their positions to a new level.

Fundraisers

A great way to be more involved is to join the Fundraising Committee. They traditionally plan Korean BBQ sales, Car Washes, All in For Unicef (until it was recently not approved, replaced with Mr. CKI), Eat 4 Services (in conjunction with Socials), and a Sports Tournament.

Socials

They occur after every normal weekly meeting. This is a great way to make friends with your fellow anteaters and we usually have a good turnout from other schools as well. Special socials occur about once a month and many times during the summer, some of these are in conjunction with our family system.

Committee Meetings

Every position for board is encouraged to have a committee so that the workload can be divided and to develop our members (open to everyone who is interested). Attending the following meetings is the fastest way to learn about Circle K while making good friends: Service Project Planning Committee (discuss changes to weekly and monthly service projects), Single Service Committee(plan quarterly large scale projects and often raise funds to make those projects even more meaningful), Tech Committee(to help develop and maintain the website that you are reading right now), Fundraising Committee(to help plan larger fundraisers and make the smaller ones a success), Spirit Committee(meet on special occasions to prepare for skits and teach members our spirit cheers that are commonly used at district events such as FTC and DCON), MRP committee (made up of the Co-Bigs plan events for all the families to attend), K-Fam Committee (usually will have a few meetings a year to plan takeovers and the annual Key to College), Scrapbook Committee (help build the end of the scrapbook from scratch, no experience necessary), MD&E Committee (make the orientation video possible and help make orientation run smooth, also help plan any training conferences or workshops for members), Public Relations Committee (help design and put up posters, help make weekly tabling possible).

Board Meetings

All members are welcome to join the board (keep in mind it is a small room) in going over past and future projects, discussing their plans for their prospective positions, plan for upcoming general meeting, discuss any issues that have come up, board votes for member of the week, we give each other "snaps" (writing positive notes and thoughts to each other), and we eat Amy's delicious treats that she always brings.
