HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Thanks for everyone who came out and supported our
Smash Tournament last Saturday. It's week 9 and this weekend is
Thanksgiving weekend. So if you're not going home yet, come out to the
meeting! It will be a chill and laid back meeting playing games and
eating out afterwards. Come spend some time with your Fusion family

Half the quarter is gone, and it's getting cold and dark really fast. I hope you guys have been on top of your classes, but if you need any extra help, you can still come to our study hours every Monday from 7 to 10 pm at SSTR 102. Also, I hope you voted (if you can)! In any case, let's talk about this week's meeting:
FUSION's 6th General Meeting: Filipino Inventions
Date/time: Wednesday, November 5 at 7pm

Have you ever wondered what kind of things have Filipinos invented? This week, we are touching upon one of the most fundamental attributes of ourselves. I hope that this week, we can help you find something about yourself and spark some interest in you. Maybe we can help you remember why you became an engineer. Either way, I hope you have a lot of fun learning about our culture.
Also, for our after event, we will be joining PUSO for Ultimate Flashlight Tag (UFT). Please bring a white shirt (that you wouldn't mind getting dirty) and any marker. If you don't have a plain white shirt, you can text or call Justin (661.714.7581) ASAP that you need a white shirt.

It's finally Week 5 and we are trudging along through our midterms... But
that's ok because FUSION is always here to help. This week's meeting is
going to be a chill meeting with a lightweight topic.
FUSION's 5th General Meeting: Scavenger Hunt
Date/time: Wednesday, October 29 at 7pm
Location: ICS 213
We know that midterms are stressful, and we hope you didn't forget the
stress management tips we gave out at the stress management meeting we had
a couple weeks ago. In any case, leave all your worries at home when you
come to this week's meeting, and just have some fun with your fellow
FUSION members! Please, come early to this meeting because we don't want
you to get left behind at the room!
One more thing... We finally have our shirts! Remember to pay your
membership dues in order to receive your shirt. Twenty dollars is only a
measly price to pay for the quality of service you will receive for the
rest of the year... and for our awesome shirt.

How has the quarter been treating you? We are almost halfway through the quarter, so I hope you have all been on top of your classes. In any case, our Alumni meeting has actually been pushed back until next week, so this week, we will be having our web design meeting this week.
FUSION's 4th General Meeting: "The Basics of Web Design"
Date/time: Wednesday, October 22 at 7pm
Location: ICS 213
We will be teaching you the basics of creating your very own web pages! You will learn how to set up a very simple webserver on your own computer, and how you can turn your very simple webpage into something more eye appealing. You will see how Myspace layouts work. With the simple knowledge we can give you, and a little bit of experimenting yourself, you will be able to create professional looking web pages. I encourage you to bring your laptop if you have one, so you can follow along and try it out for yourself!
Also, due to certain circumstances, FUSION was unable to booth for Shocktoberfest, and we have a whole bunch of hot links that we want to get rid of. So... We'll be cooking hot links for all of you for our after event, which will be at Justin's place at Columbia Court. We will provide rides. Oh... did I mention... The hot links are going to be FREE! Plus, you can bring study material/homework that you need to work on while you wait for your hot link(s) to be cooked. Justin also has a Wii, (and Super Smash Bros. Brawl), so if you want to just kick it and play some video games, that's also available for you. So come out and relax/study with your fellow FUSIONeers!

It's week 3 and you know what that means? Those crazy professors are ready to give out their "midterms" that happen once or twice a quarter. If you guys are not finding the time to go study, you can come join our joint study hours with PUSO (http://www.geocities.com/heavenzpnaiangel/links.htm) on Mondays from 7 to 10 pm at the Social Science Trailers (SSTR) room 104. Of course, studying for midterms can get a bit stressful, but FUSION is here to help you out.
FUSION's 3rd General Meeting: "Stress Management"
Date/time: Wednesday, October 15th at 7pm

We will have a presentation for you guys this Wednesday, and it will show you the ropes on how to deal with the stress you will be going through throughout the quarter. Also be sure to check out our after event: Bowling with FUSION. Bring comfy socks for you to wear and some spare cash to rent some bowling shoes. That's about it for this week, and we will have more announcements after the break.
We will have some more chips for you guys to snack on during the meeting, so bring a small appetite.
