Global Medical Brigades is an international network of more than 50 university clubs and volunteer organizations that provide communities in developing nations with sustainable health care solutions. Our current emphasis is in Honduras, where nearly 1,000 GMB volunteers travel annually to deliver services to our 40 communities. In 2007, GMB volunteers provided aid to nearly 40,000 patients in low-income villages with limited to no access to medicine otherwise.

The 4 Committees are as follows:
1. Fundraising - The key committee to the foundation of the club and arguably the most important. Most of the medications and supplies we bring are financed through this committee. Throughout the year there are fundraising events made available through local restaurants, staffing events, and donations. It is a requirement for all members to staff at least 1 event at some point during the year (either through Staffpro or CSC), regardless of which committee they are in. Once funds are in, medicine packages are purchased from charities who specialize in preparing large quantities of supplies for medical missions.
Committee Specific Requirement - Staff at least 2 events, either through CSC, Staffpro, or both.

2. Medical Professionals - Our brigade cannot commence unless we have doctors, pharmamcists, and nurses to come along with us. As volunteers we cannot perform proper medical diagnoses or be trained without the aid of a professional medical staff. Generally, family members or friends of members are recruited to fulfill these positions. These have limited spaces and do not require an excessive amount of members.

3. Medical Supplies - With funds and a medical staff, supplies will be needed to distribute. Each member of this committee will be required to raise $100 worth of medicine to bring along for the trip in addition to aiding the committee chair prepare and complete the necessary paperwork for ordering the bulk of our supplies.

4. Non-Medical Supplies - Not only does Global Medical Brigades help serve the medical needs of villagers in Honduras, we also do our best to cater to other needs. This includes bringing school supplies for children, soccer balls for recreation, clothes, and other supplies that may be needed by the medical supplies committees such as Zip-Lock bags, stickers, and labels.
Committee Specific Requirement - As a committee whole, run 2 donation drives per quarter.
