Social International Potluck

Hey Transfer Students~!

We will be having a fun social potluck for our next General Meeting on Week 8. The theme for this meeting is international food. Your friendly neighborhood TSO E-Board will be bringing in sample dishes from their ethnic backgrounds, ranging in from Filipino, Mexican, to Indian. Please feel free to bring your own dish to represent your culture in our melting pot of foods!!! In addition to experiencing fabulous and exotic new foods, this will be a chance to get to know network with your fellow transfer students. Who knows, that person you might meet next week might be in your class and can possibly help you during finals week coming up!

The social will be on Feb. 24 from 1-2pm at Student Services II Rm. 1010AB. Additional information is available at our website: clubs.uci.edu/TSO or email us at tso@clubs.uci.edu

And if we didn't mention it already...This is completely FREE for all TRANSFER STUDENTS!!!

Hey everyone~!

This Wednesday we are proud to host a special info session with Dr. Caesar Sereseres, Associate Dean of Social Sciences. He will be speaking about his experience as a transfer student and grad school opportunities. You don't need to be in the School of Social Sciences to attend, because all this information equally pertinent to everyone~! I personally guarantee that this meeting will be very fun and insightful.

Also during this week's meeting, we will also be talking about various ways YOU can get involved with TSO this upcoming spring quarter and next year. We are currently looking for very motivated individuals who are interested in gaining leadership experience and an opportunity to positively affect the lives of fellow transfer students. The positions we are hoping to find potential interns for are under our publicity and project committees. I repeat, this is an excellent opportunity for any transfer student wishing to get involved in an on-campus organization, work with various UCI staff and faculty, and to have fun in the process.

Hi everyone,

The Transfer Student Opportunities Program (TSOP) will be having a new student orientation tomorrow, Thursday February 4th at 5pm in the new Social & Behavioral Sciences Gateway (SBS). We encourage everyone to go take a look. TSOP is an excellent certificate program that when completed is designed to make transfer students more competitive to grad schools, employers, and other opportunities. Learn more by attending their orientation tomorrow~!

Hey Transfer Students~!

TSO will be having a special workshop this week with Said Shokair, the Director of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (aka. UROP). He will be speaking to us about the in's and out's of doing research here at UCI and that it is VERY POSSIBLE for transfer students to participate and engage in research within our short 2-3 year stay.

On another note, we are seeking able minded and bodied individuals to help assist with the behind the scene workings of the Transfer Student Organization. We need all the support we can get from you, our fellow transfer students, to ensure the continued success of our club now and for many years to come. We are looking for transfers that have an interest in planning and publicizing events, as well as coordinating with UCI faculty and staff who help TSO in a variety of ways.

Like always, our meeting will be this Wednesday, January 27th from 1-2pm at Student Services II Rm. 1010AB.
