Lead Producer in the Haus!
VGDC is in for a big treat tonight. Aspiring to work in the industry sometime in your life? Get ready! We have Lead Producer Jason Fader from Obsidian Entertainment who will be dropping by and giving us a chat. Jason has personally worked on several well known big video game titles that pretty much any gamer is familiar with. You will learn more about him and get a chance ask questions like how it is like to be one of the leads. Make sure you ditch plans tonight and stick around and hear more from our special guest tonight.
Speakers 5-19: Game Designer Joseph Bulock and Entrepreneur Ash Kumra
So you know how we haven’t had any speakers for weeks? Well, this coming meeting Monday May 23rd, the VGDC will host not one, but TWO industry speakers.
At 6:30, Joseph Bulock, designer at Obsidian Entertainment will talk about what its like to work as a designer at a AAA company, as well as how he got in, and all that other good stuff. This is a unique opportunity for those of you interested in game design, so don’t miss out!
At 7:30, we have Ash Kumra (–> Google him) who is a serial entrepreneur in the digital media space, and also a UCI ICS alumni. He is starting another company focusing on publishing user videos that may be published/reviewed as part of a new game concept. He is interested in recruiting some VGDC members to work on some game development projects through summer internships.
Its going to be a busy meeting, so we will be starting right away at 6:30 this time. So better not to be late.

Speaker 10-18 : Richard Yale of Vortex Games
Richard Yale, President and Founder of Vortex Games will be speaking to the VGDC this coming Monday about the process of starting and running a small game company. January 25th, Sam Stokes, Patrick Sweeney and pizza.
Sam Stokes, a representative from Microsoft’s XNA Evangelist program will speak about the upcoming Imagine Cup Game Design competition. Patrick Sweeney from Nixon Peabody LLP will also speak on a variety of topics, including “Pitching Your Game Idea: Do’s and Don’t's” and “A Game Development Agreement Walk-Through.”
